Loop – Boho is a 1,800 square foot Airbnb apartment located on the sixth floor of a residential building, designed as a vibrant and free-spirited urban retreat.Perched on the sixth floor of a bustling residential complex, Loop – Boho reimagines the concept of the short-term rental, transforming a standard 1,800-square-foot apartment into an immersive urban sanctuary. The design intent was to move beyond the transient, impersonal nature of typical hospitality spaces and instead cultivate a “home away from home” that pulses with personality and warmth. Conceived as a vibrant, free-spirited retreat, the apartment offers a narrative-driven experience where eclectic design meets modern comfort, providing guests with a sensory escape from the concrete jungle below.

The lighting design, in particular, was a challenge in layering; we combined industrial-grade black track lighting for precision and gallery-style illumination with warm-spectrum accent lamps to create a domestic scale.

Beneath the effortless, bohemian aesthetic lies a foundation of rigorous technical planning.

The spatial configuration maximizes the apartment’s generous footprint, fostering a fluid dialogue between the social zones. The open-plan layout seamlessly connects the living area to the dining space, encouraging interaction while maintaining distinct functional islands. This permeability is enhanced by the strategic placement of furniture—low-profile seating and slender dining silhouettes—that allow sightlines to remain unobstructed. Large windows flood the interiors with natural light, which is tempered by rust-hued drapery, creating a golden-hour glow that permeates the space throughout the day.
A meticulously curated material palette defines the atmospheric depth of Loop – Boho. We stepped away from sterile whites in favor of textured, lime-washed walls in soft beige and peach tones, which provide an earthy canvas for the design. This neutral backdrop is punctuated by bold strokes of rust and terracotta, seen in the plush velvet upholstery and soft furnishings. The juxtaposition of materials is central to the boho-chic aesthetic: warm timber flooring grounds the space, while tactile woven rope chairs and cool black metal accents introduce a layer of industrial sophistication and contrast.

The design language thrives on whimsical detailing and sculptural elements that serve as conversation starters. The project eschews mass-produced uniformity for character-rich pieces, such as the striking gold floral side table and the playful rabbit lamp that anchors the living room vignette. These distinct artifacts, combined with contemporary track lighting and ambient fixtures, allow the mood of the apartment to shift from bright and energetic during the day to intimate and dramatic at night. Biophilic elements, including large Areca palms and table greenery, breathe life into the corners, reinforcing the connection to nature despite the urban setting.

Ultimately, Loop – Boho stands as a testament to the power of experiential design in the hospitality sector. By balancing functionality with high-impact visual storytelling, the project succeeds in being both a functional residence and a memorable destination in itself. It is a space designed not just to be occupied, but to be felt—a playful, tactile, and serene enclosure that invites guests to pause, unwind, and embrace a slower, more spirited pace of living.

Custom-built cabinetry and a deep-green fluted sideboard provide ample storage, ensuring the space remains clutter-free for short-term occupants.

This marriage of high-design durability and eclectic styling ensures that the project can withstand the high-traffic demands of a premium Airbnb while maintaining its curated, boutique-hotel allure.

Beyond the visual impact, Loop – Boho was designed to be a multi-sensory environment. We prioritized acoustic softening to ensure the apartment remained a true sanctuary despite its elevated position in a residential hub. The heavy linen drapes, thick-pile rugs, and the textural variation of the lime-washed walls work in unison to dampen sound, creating a quiet, hushed interior. This softness is balanced by the tactile variety found in the furniture—from the smooth, cool metallic surfaces of the sculptural tables to the organic, slightly rough weave of the dining chairs—encouraging guests to physically engage with their surroundings.
The concept of the “Urban Retreat” is anchored in the intentional integration of greenery and light. By utilizing tall, leafy Areca palms and clustered potted flora, we effectively blurred the boundaries between the indoor living space and the outdoor environment. This biophilic approach does more than just decorate; it cleanses the air and provides a psychological break from the city’s architectural rigidity. The floor plan was specifically engineered to capture cross-breezes from the sixth-floor elevation, allowing the apartment to breathe naturally and reducing the reliance on artificial climate control during the temperate months.
